All feed is produced at our state-of-the-art plant with dedicated ruminant production lines. The plant is fully automated and computer controlled which enables us to guarantee traceability of all feed ingredients from entry to and finished products from the mill. This traceability along with monitoring and recording throughout the production process ensures consistent product quality time after time and enables feed orders to be processed and despatched to the farm as efficiently and effectively as possible.

DAIRY

Dairy feeds are formulated using high energy and high quality protein ingredients to maximise cow performance in terms of production, health and efficiency.

A range of specialist feed technologies such as Vitalpro, Protected Fats, Biotin and others are used within the range of feeds so that they can be used strategically where they will be of benefit on individual farm situations. These technologies are all tried and locally proven on N.I. dairy farms.

CALF & BEEF

A complete range of high quality calf & beef feeds are available to meet the nutritional requirements of rearing and finishing beef animals.

SHEEP

Sheep and Lamb diets are formulated with production, growth, health and efficiency in mind for both pedigree and commercial producers.

As with all ruminant diets from McLarnon Feeds, the sheep and lamb feeds have optimum levels of all the necessary vitamins, minerals and protected trace elements.

McLARNON FEED SERVICES/CONSULTANCY

McLarnon Feeds offer a complete service to their customers which includes a Dairy Consultancy Package which is tailored to individual farmers needs for feed rationing, target setting, feed efficiency monitoring and financial & fertility benchmarking. Other feed services available to all McLarnon customers include:

Dairy Enterprise Costings measure physical & financial performance of milk production and enables farmers to identify strengths and weaknesses within their production system.

Winter Feed Plan using SAC FeedByte model balances the intake of forages available on farm and the feeding level of the most suitable balanced ration to meet the production requirements of the herd.

Silage Analysis is carried out by AFBI, Hillsborough. NIR (Near Infra Red) Analysis allows accurate and speedy results.

Mineral Analysis of forages, milk and drinking water is available if necessary to determine the mineral status of livestock and/or to determine mineral intakes for optimum production and health.

These combined services allow producers to plan the winter ahead with confidence.
